When he was 20, Emperor Taisho granted Prince Chichibu the title of Chichibu no miya (秩父宮), a gesture meaning that the Prince now had the approval to start a new branch of the imperial family line. Italy had switched sides in WW2 during October of 1943, declaring war on the Axis of power then. By the end of WW2, the United States’ occupation of Italy was not news. Postwar Italy was in bad shape, but was not as bad as postwar Japan. International Women’s Day is more than just a hashtag on social media. It is a day celebrated internationally by at least 100 countries such as Afghanistan, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Russia, and Ukraine. It has a radical origin with its start with the now defunct Socialist Party of America in 1909 with demands for voting rights, better pay, and shorter working hours.
